3rd module

3rd module – March 2010

After half an afternoon spent buying strips and plywood we can finally start the 3rd module construction.
We assemble the strips with screws and joints and the plywood sides on which we already cut the inspection slots.
The material used is 40 × 20 mm strips, 15 mm and 10 mm plywood.

In the front, under the future parade line, we make the housing for the booster and the accessories power un its. The booster can be removed for maintenance.

We put the 3rd module next to the second, thanks to the supporting trolleys, on which we adjust the height registers and drill the holes for the fixing bolts.

For greater safety we encase the bolts with a flush cut aluminum tube.

We then insert the bolts and tighten. The union is perfect and solid.

We connect the DCC line, the accessories line and the feedback bus cable from the Booster to the 2nd module. We have chosen a traditional plastic duct with cover for the wiring, which can host several cables to be wired at any time.
